Composed around 1714, the ''Concerts Royaux'' were written by François Couperin for the small chamber concerts that Louis XIV had him attend every Sunday. These are not the usual interplay between solo instruments and full-voiced ensemble, but rather piano suites with any number of string and wind instruments.
