This piece may be played on either stringed or wind instruments. It is better if the ensemble is homogenous in its make-up (3 violins, 3 flutes, 3 clarinets, etc.), but combinations of different instruments are quite possible (violin, viola, cello, flute, trumpet con sord., cor anglais, oboe, trumpet con sord., clarinet, etc.). Conventional bowings have been marked, and may be altered by the performers.
