The purpose of this book is to help both aspiring and professional bassists expand their ability to create coherent and meaningful solos. Although the bassist's main function is as a member of the rhythm section, in contemporary jazz the accomplished bassist should be able to solo on a tune with authority, clarity and feeling. This book will, hopefully, assist in reaching this goal.
