Orbán's Motetta, written in 1979, belongs to the composer's early period, marked by discernible avant-garde influences. Yet the work is far more than an experiment: through its religious subject matter, it already anticipates the spirituality of his later oeuvre. The choir’s intense dramatic power and the oboe's intimate solo line create a unique reflection on the Passion story.
