This collection presents a selection of Renaissance and early Baroque lute music preserved in a remarkable Lithuanian manuscript tablature from the 16th-17th centuries. Featuring popular songs, dances, and instrumental pieces by at least eight lutenists, the edition offers a vivid glimpse into the international musical culture of Renaissance Vilnius and the diverse European influences that shaped it. Carefully edited from the original source, with errors corrected, missing passages reconstructed, and practical performance guidance provided, this volume makes a rare and historically significant repertoire accessible to today's performers.
