Roman PalesterTwo Studiesfor PianoPublisher: PWM EditionCountries of delivery: Cat. no. 10376 ''Two Studies'' present - from a stylistic point of view - the quintessence of the composer's creative attitude and his favoured technical solutions, which revolve around a harmonic-architectonic plan. Technical problems are of secondary importance here, the most essential thing for the performer being the proper interpretation of a maximally chromaticized sound material, overlapping complexes and the dissonant planes in the left and right hands. The performer should heed the expressive aspect of these works, with their completely uninhibited musical narrative, emphasized by frequent changes of metre, clear articulation and changes of mood enhanced by simple consonances; at the same time, a peculiar austerity and moderation means that there is no uncalled for virtuosity or abuse of extreme registers.
