Wu Kui is a folk dance from northeast China which expresses the hunters' joy in work and life. Capturing the original style of the dance, this solo piano piece opens with animated rhythmic patterns, moves into a free-flowinglyrical central section, and concludes with a return to the fiercely exultant rhythms of the opening.
