Our edition presents accordion transcriptions of works by J. S. Bach, Handel, and pieces formerly attributed to them. Only after the first publication did it become clear to music historians that several pieces in the Notebook for Anna Magdalena Bach had incorrectly circulated under J. S. Bach’s name. A similar situation applies to certain works attributed to Handel. Despite their uncertain or previously misidentified origins, these pieces have stood the test of time. They form an essential part of the musical repertoire and frequently appear in collections of performance pieces for beginners. This volume is recommended for beginner and intermediate players.
