This setting of selected verses of Psalm 23 was commissioned by the Magnificat Girls' Choir in Budapest and its conductor Valéria Szebellédi. It was written in 2023. Its structure is quite complex: a calm, bucolic opening section in F major is followed by a restless and dramatic middle section that illustrates the text ''The valley of the shadow of death''). After a brief return of the main theme (now in D major), the work concludes, somewhat unexpectedly but not unusually from Gyöngyösi, with a virtuoso ''Alleluia.'' The 4-minute piece is recommended for professional or advanced amateur female choirs.
