Based on a text by Charles Coffin, John Purifoy has created a stellar anthem for the Advent season. The work builds in intensity as the text and music move from inward reflection - 'The advent of our God shall be our themefor prayer,' - to outward praise - 'All glory to the Son who comes to set us free, with Father, Spirit, ever One through all eternity.'
