Saxiana Paris is a musical postcard from the first half of the 20th c. and the six pieces in this collection are perfectly adapted for performance on alto saxophone. Inspired by the -then new- instrument, French composers such as Bizet, Delibes, Massenet, Dukas, Franck or Ravel all explored its lyrical possibilities in their original orchestrations. Whether pastoral, dramatic, anxious or crystalline, the diverse moods and textures of Saxiana Paris compositions allow the saxophone to unfold its f
