For two years Dvor&aacute,k focused on his Requiem, before it was premiered in 1891 under his own direction in Birmingham. This work reflects Dvor&aacute,k's deeply religious attitude.

Despite all the drama and orchestral abundance, the characteristics of this work lies between the close relationship between text content and musical expression.
