The region of Alsace along the upper Rhine has a distinct cultural character of its own and has had a distinct impact on musical and artistic culture throughout history, especially through its influential organ builders and players. With this collection we have attempted to strike a balance between liturgical and non-liturgical organ music traditions and some of the pieces are published here for the first time.
