Wolf Péter: Inventions for Young Pianists 2.
Wolf-temperiertes Klavier 4
''This collection was written especially for music-school pupils and clearly reflects Péter Wolf's distinctive harmonic and rhythmic style, colourful imagination, playfulness and humour. The expressive titles alone appeal to children and inspire their imagination. The pieces often use unusual or changing metres, melodies built in three-bar groups, syncopated rhythms, jazz-like accents, and contrasts between staccato and legato playing. Several pieces develop smooth alternation between the hands, pedal technique, rhythmic confidence and musical expression. Their varied characters and witty dissonances gently broaden the pupils' musical world.
I warmly recommend this collection to young pianists and their teachers who are open to the language of contemporary music and who also seek the pleasure of free and enjoyable music-making.'' - Rita Znamenák, piano teacher
