The Korean Lee Hanuri composed his piano piece Vertigineux at the age of 18, with which he won first prize at the 2024 Bartók World Competition for composers organized by the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music in Budapest. The work was premiered by József Balog at the closing gala concert of the composers' competition on November 23, 2024, and is a mandatory piece at the 2025 Bartók World Competition for Pianists. According to the composer, in this music the mental and physical state of dizziness '...appears in different forms and perspectives. As a basic concept, the title can refer to the general mood of the composition, while as a sub-concept, it can mean the act of the pattern and repetition of six notes'.
