Hosokawa's compositions include orchestral works, solo concertos, chamber music works, pieces for traditional Japanese instruments and film music. The modern playing techniques required for the performance of this highly virtuoso harp piece will introduce both player and audience to a whole range of different tone colours in a rapid succession of musical episodes which reflect a preference in the music of the Far East for imagery taken from the natural world.
