Gárdonyi's Bipartita, written for two organs - a great organ and a positive organ - juxtaposes settings of two hymns associated with Pentecost. Initially unfolding according to the principles of variation, the musical material eventually breaks free from these formal constraints and, transcending them, reaches its culmination in the programmatic spirit of the feast.
The publication, which marks the 120th anniversary of Zoltán Gárdonyi's birth and the 40th anniversary of his passing, contains a reproduction of the composer's manuscript.
