This two-volume selection (Vol. 2: Z. 14204) presents Liszt’s most popular songs, frequently performed both in concert halls and in the classroom. Chosen for their popularity and accessibility, the songs are organized by voice type (Volume 1 for soprano or tenor, Volume 2 for mezzo-soprano or baritone). As Liszt himself indicated in many cases, these songs may be performed by both male and female singers. With the exception of the perhaps most frequently performed song, „O lieb”, the pieces are presented in their original keys. The collection also includes several songs that were not included in the earlier six-volume series published by EMB. We recommend these 23 songs for musicians at an intermediate level or above.
