This piece was commissioned by the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra and the Birmingham Contemporary Music Group as part of Julian Anderson's Composer-In-Association residency, with generous financial assistance from the Michael Vyner Trust and Investors through BCMG's Sound Investment scheme.
