A comitted representative of Hungarian composition in Romania, it is also due to him that from the '60s this guild was able to catch up with Hungarian literature in Romania, which between the two World Wars had managed to show an individual identity and a characteristic profile. Csíky's laconic but all the more significant voice followed in Bartók's footsteps and his compositions are directly or indirectly, imbued by Hungarian folk song.
