Prokofiev, Sergei: Concerto No.2 for Violin and orchestra. Op.63 Arranged for Violin and Piano by the author
The Second Concerto for violin and orchestra G minor op. 63 was completed by Sergei Prokofiev in August 1935.
The Concerto was composed during the composer's simultaneous work at the ballet ''Romeo and Juliet'' and piano cycle ''Children's Music'' in summer 1935, so as his tours (some excerpts were implied in Paris, Voronezh, Baku) and his repose in Polenovo Holiday Hotel near Tarussa.
The first performance took place in Madrid on December 1, 1935. Robert Sethance was the soloist, while Boris Fishman executed it a year later in Moscow.
