Igor Drukh lives in St. Petersburg, composing all kinds of music. Serious concertgoers accept him as the author of intricate extraordinary opuses in modern style. However, the other sphere of his music activity is also known to his listeners, i. e. Igor Drukh is a skillful jazzman. Serious composer and jazz pianist in one - isn’t it striking indeed!
The collection ''Syncope'' by Igor Drukh is called forth to take young musicians along jazz stylistic, rhythmical and harmonic peculiarities. This time the publication of Drukh’s ''Syncope'' is represented by Vladimir Orlov, famous Petersburgian accordionist, having made accordion and bayan arrangements for children and youth.
The collection consists of two parts. All the pieces are distributed according to the complexity scale.
The first part invites little ones to scamper along nine miniatures based on the popular jazz themes. Easy pieces in C major are a good chance of getting into rhythmical gear without fail. Young music ians are welcome to perceive jazz music, distinct for complicated rhythms, strokes and balance of intonations.
The second part of the collection ''Syncope'' includes seven jazz pieces by Igor Drukh. These miniatures with sticking witty titles will take young musicians along jazz stylistic peculiarities. Of course, any student’s sense of rhythm will be mastered by means of these pieces. Traditional jazz genres are presented here, i. e. spiritual, song-ballad, jazz waltz, stride, rumba, ragtime and polyphonic fughetta (being the kind of the offering to Scott Joplin, ''king of ragtime'' despite its classic title).
