Concert Pieces by the Latin American Composers for Accordion (Bayan)
Time passed and attracted professional composers to this genre. Meanwhile numerous schools were opened, dancers were invited to carnival contests. As the Brazilian and jazz improvisation have been mingled in one genre, there appeared the new trend ''bossa-nova'', glorified by the captivating passionate songs by Antonio Carlos Jobim, whose creation is represented here by the unfading ''Girl from Ipanema''. Exquisite intonations amalgamated with syncopated rhythms and imbrog lio make bossa-nova rather attractive both for many professional musicians and music lovers.
The legendary ''Gallito Cantor'' by the Paraguayan composer Jose Asuncion Flores (1904-1972) is introduced here as the arrangement by the Wonderful musician Ivan Tur, whose memory this collection is dedicated to.
