Alexey Nikolayevich Kofanov was born in 1971. His green years passed in the Siberian city Kemerovo, while in 1982 he moved to Leningrad-St Petersburg, where he studied in the Musorgsky Music College.

Alexey Kofanov has the command of talents. He is altogether a guitarist, singer, composer, literary man and artist. Kofanov's creation was honoured by the variety song's competition ''Idols of the 21th Century''. Among the young composer's opuses there are four symphonies, two concertos for guitar and orchestra, Concerto for piano and orchestra, symphonic poem ''Svetloyar'' (firstly performed in the Petersburg Kapelle), more than hundred songs, the poetic collection ''Occasional Phonations'', stories ''Recruits'' (together with N. Kofanov), novel ''Dismantling''.
