Yuri Kornakov is the Honoured Art Worker of Russia, the professor of the Saint-Petersburg Culture and Arts University and the Humanitarian University of Trade Unions.

His talent’s and skill’s recognition was revealed by the victories at many All-Union and All-Russian composers’ competitions, at the First Prokifiev International Competition, at the four international competitions in Japan. His ballet ''The Lord of Jungle''(to R. Kipling) was awarded the State Prize of Buryatia.
