Rogalev Igor: Fact and Commentary. Sonata for bayan
Dating 1992 the Sonata ''Fact and Commentary'' for bayan is called in honour of the popular TV programme of that time. The irony is rather suitable here, for the whole Sonata is permeated with the author's grin, recalled by the process of total politization, peculiar to that time.
The composition is full of bold bayan sounding experiments . The instrument is called forth to reveal all the hints of oral speech. Thus the bayan is now heard a-talking, now a-growling, now murmuring something...
Here the edition by Yevgeniy Petrov is represented. He became its first performer in 1997 at the Maly Hall of the St Petersburg Philharmonic Society.
