'Musical Sketches'' for balalaika and piano under the heading of ''We Learn To Play Balalaika'' is the programmatic trend music. The original composition consists of seven pieces of various characters. The plot in this composition is formed so, as to give the musician the chance to choose the pieces' order and to perform them arbitrary.
The author uses basical devices for balalaika part: different strokes clashing, tremolo, various kinds of pizzicato, vibrato, flageolet-tones.
The pieces are not very complicated both in musical and technical aspects. Thus they may be used as pedagogical repertoire for the students of the 3-4 forms of children music schools.
