Zolotnitsky Dmitri Jakovlevich: Six Music Pictures to the Fairytale ''Flint'' by H. Ch. Andersen. For Violin and Piano. Audio supp

The witch (No. 2) is described by means of the sequence arranged in dotted rhythm and outbursting impetuosity, reminding of her complaisant dogs. There is one more episode, when p rickly rhythm is stained in dissonant intervals, thus adding most essential dab of the brush to the witch’s portrait. The same evil grin peeps out in the piece No. 4, when sham friends of the soldier demonstrate their love to him, or maybe to his purse temporary packed with money. However, the soldier reminds of the magic flint that will set him free (No. 5). The final piece ''Soldier’s Joy'' (No. 6) is connected with dynamic episode of the ''Witch'', for that magic flint belonged to the witch herself and the soldier managed to summon up the dogs for to escape and to defeat the evil.
These most vivid scenes would be useful for young musicians of middle and senior age, while everybody is welcome to listen to the musical embodiment of the great Danish master’s creation, permeated with kindness and wisdom.
