Igor Vorobyov is an active participant of international scientific conferences and festivals, being the head of the International Festival ''From Avant-garde to Nowadays'' since 1992.
Among his compositions there are the opera ''Elizaveta Bam'' after D. Harms, ballet ''Don Juan'', ''Assol’, Chamber symphony, Symphony for full symphony orchestra, Co ncerto for contrabass and orchestra, Concerto for piano and orchestra, Concertino for flute and string orchestra, three piano sonatas, two cello sonatas with piano, sonata for viola and piano, string quartet, vocal cycles ''Phrase-Book'', ''Seasons'', ''Return to the Sea'', ''To N”’s Album'', ''Five Romances and Vocalise to the Memory of Valery Gavrilin'', Requiem for soprano, choir and chamber orchestra, ''Magnificat'' for soloists and choir a cappella, cantata ''Corner of the Earth'' for reciter, soloists and choir, seven concertos and cycles for choir a cappella etc.
Igor Vorobyov is the author of monographs ''Russian Avant-garde and Alexander Mosolov’s Creation of 1920-1930'' (the 1st edition - 2001, the 2nd one - 2006), books of essays ''Russian Avant-garde Composers'' (co-authorship with A. Sinayskaya, 2007), album ''Petersburg. Music. The 20th Century'' (2004), collection ''Russian Avant-garde. Manifests, Declarations, Programme Articles'' (2008).
