Violin performing school of Petersburg (Leningrad) has its long-lasting steady traditions. Numerous distinguished creators of the Russian music, so as well-known composers of the Soviet epoch wanted their premi? res to have been held by the Neva violinists, distinct for brilliant manner.
Performing traditions are preserved from the early childhood. The authors’ treatment should be also quite special, even if composers create violin music. Everything depends on taste and technique.
''Music Silhouettes'' is collected by the composer S. N. Poddubny, known all over the world. Just get in touch with these pearls and you’ll cope with contemporary music means, implying altogether the Petersburgian performing traditions.
Therefore the authors, Petersburgian composers, treated this project most ardently, manifesting novelty and tradition at once. I hope future generations will enjoy this music, necessary for the true skill of a violinist!
