Sergey Aleksandrovich Oskolkov (b. 1952), Honored Arts Worker of Russia is a well-known St. Petersburg composer and pianist. Since 1997 he has been organizing and holding the annual International Festival of the Arts Sergey Oskolkov and His Friends. Currently, he is a professor and chair of the Department of Sound Engineering at the St. Petersburg Humanitarian University of Trade Unions.
The present collection includes piano compositions in four hands. The author united three dance pieces in the Retro-suite, but they can also be performed separately. The pieces are intended for pupils of children arts schools, students of middle and higher musical educational institutions, and concerting performers.
