Heinrich Panofka (1807-1887) - German violinist, composer, singer, singing teacher, conductor, choirmaster and music journalist, who worked successfully in Berlin, London, Paris and Florence. He was the author of several textbooks on vocal art. The vocal alphabet was first published in Paris in 1858. The book contains basic information on teaching singing. It includes 14 exercises for singing intervals, arpeggios, gammas and 24 vocalizations. The book is addressed to students and teachers of music schools and colleges, as well as to a broad audience of singing amateurs.
