Christmas in the traditional songs of orthodox nations: Greece This edition does not aim at presenting all the singing material and music traditions for praising Christmas in Greece with scientific ethnographic precision. With precision are presented original Greek melodies and texts. Poetic translations into Russia are not always close to the original text, sometimes they tell the contents in a free form, and sometimes only topic is in common with the original lyrics.
Some kalandas are presented in sheet adaptation, as well as in traditional music semiography, i.e. the way all liturgic chants in the Greek Church are written down. For a share of readers they may serve as a study guide for neumatic writing of Byzantine music.
