Bach, Johann Sebastian: Cantata Mein Herze schwimmt im Blut for soprano, strings and continuo. BWV 199
Score and parts
Cantata ''Mein Herze schwimmt im Blut'' BWV 199 was composed by Bach in Weimar, where he had the position of organist and concert organiser, by the eleventh Sunday to Trinity in 1713 or 1714. The text was written by a Darmstadt court librarian and poet Georg Christopher Lems. Cantata has appeared to be one of those creations to which the composer had turned many times. In the Bach's Compendium there are six different versions of this opus: two weimarian, two käthenian and two leipzig versions.
In this edition for the first time a version reconstructed based on the composer's signature from the Institue of Literature (the Pushkin's house) of the RAS and not yet known in the science of Bach's creations, was published. The introductory article tells the story of this signature.
Edition contai ns facsimile reproduction of the great composer's manuscript addressed to the professional musicians, as well as to the general audience of the music fans.
Reconstruction of the Käthen version, introductory article and comments by T. Shabalina.
