Nevertheless, no. 8 in thecollection, ''La Fille aux cheveux de lin'' (The girl with the flaxen hair), has become famous in its own right. This image perfectly fits the dreamy graceful music. And ever since, the prelude has been the object of numerous arrangements for otherscorings.
