Pascal Martiné is a much sought-after choral composer, both at home and abroad. The fact that the founder and director of the women's choir 'Luna' from Mainz has developed a special interest in the pure sound of a female choir, is proven by his sacred choral work Spem in alium for a cappella women's choir (SSAA) which is well worth listening to. In just 71 bars he creates an atmospherically dense musical tapestry in which the hope of divine grace is given sincere expression. This church music gem whose Latin text comes from the apocryphal Book of Judith and which is divided in two parts as responsory, is easy to study and rehearse for ambitious amateur choirs. A four- or eight-part women's choir is optional for a total of seven bars.
