This setting of the first verse of Psalm 145 was commissioned by two US conductors, James Rodde (Iowa State Singers) and Richard Bjella (San Antonio Chamber Choir). It was composed in 2024. The structure of this serene and joyful piece in C major is similar to the classical sonata form, but it is complicated by two factors: a fugato in the second theme area and a reverse order of themes is in the recapitulation (with the main theme appearing last). This 3-minute work is recommended for advanced amateur choirs.
