Gyöngyösi Levente: Animam meam dilectam
partituras corales
In the Catholic liturgy, Good Friday forms part of the Easter Triduum and commemorates the condemnation and crucifixion of Jesus Christ. Its remarkably poetic, emotionally intense, and deeply moving texts invite the faithful to experience the Passion and deepen their faith.
Animam meam dilectam (''My Beloved Soul''), the sixth movement of the cycle, belies its lyrical title by portraying Christ surrounded by his enemies. At the climax of the work, a drum is introduced as an instrument of war.
The work is recommended for professional and advanced amateur children's and women's choirs.
