This piece uses some melodic, rhythmic and harmonic materials from the late piano music of Albeniz as a starting point. Erkoreka exaggerates or simplifies certain aspects of the tradition of Spanish piano music, offering arenewed and personal vision by treating very differently the same materials that Albeniz used. Jaia means 'fiesta' in Basque.
