This work was awarded the British Composer Award for Liturgical Music in 2003, but is published for the first time in 2013. The Roman Catholic Liturgy includes an antiphon to the Magnificat at Vespers, O Doctor optime, whichJackson sets incorporating medieval influences such as plainsong.
