Márton Stummer was born in Győr, Hungary. He completed his studies in the Richter János Conservatoire, later in the Varga Tibor Musical Institute, and eventually in the Liszt Ferenc Music Academy. His teachers: Ede Roth, Antal Pusztai, Attila Reményi and András Csáki.He was awarded as composer and performer at a great number of national and international competitions as well. Some of these were the following: Carpathian Region International Competition, World Guitar Competition, European Guitar Award Dresden, Uppsala Guitar Festival. His professional activity (both as composer and performer) includes classical, jazz and contemporary style as well. “These short pieces being edited now are the products of my first period as a composer. The chosen ones equal with each other in character and style, so they may well be performed in one piece, as a bunch. It’s my wish to carry on with an old tradition which is totally a living one for me: the composer is a performer of his work at the very same time ╩ consequently I provided the pieces with fingering and musical instruction. Keeping these as a rule is not obligatory of course, but it might be of help at working them out.
