Ron Howard's 1992 film Far and Away starred Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman in a saga of Irish immigration to American in the 1890s. Drawing on the rich tradition of Irish music as inspiration, John Williams uses original themes, butin an Irish style, in creating a sweeping film score that beautifully captures and enhances the moods portrayed in the film.
