George Gershwin's only opera, Porgy and Bess, dealt with the socially sensitive issue of race. The composer even specified that it may only be performed by coloured actors. Summertime is easily the most well-known piece from this opera and has been covered numerous times, even by the likes of Ella Fitzgerald herself. Now it is your turn!
