The Lamplighter is composed in honour of Professor Alfred Mouledous - pianist, artist-pedagogue, and mentor extraordinaire. In seventy years of teaching, he has encouraged, equipped, and empowered generations of pianists to be artists at the piano. Your artistry and pedagogical legacy live on through our students and in turn, their students. Thank you for opening our eyes to see extraordinary possibilities in the ordinary and for demonstrating through example the incredible power of the piano teacher in students' lives. Finally, thank you for your artistic input for the pieces in this collection. My hope is that this music reflects the ''light'' of the principles learnt from you.
