Poly was written as a homage to György Ligeti and his music. Therefore the musical elements and the titles of the movements refer to those artistic, technical, scientific, acoustic creationsand phenomena that Ligeti admired.Balázs Horváth won the 1st prize with POLY at the composition competition 'In memoriam György Ligeti' in Berlin, 2007. The piece was premiered on 13 October, 2007 (Berlin, Akademie der Künste, Solistenensemble Ligatura). The performance material can be hired under the catalogue number H-74.
